For years it has been discussed which should be the new use of the Born Market, finally decided to locate the Library Provincial of Barcelona. Once started the rehabilitation works they found a important archaeological site in the market underground. So they had to stop work to start archeological excavation.

After many years of work and debate finally on September 11th we could attend the opening of the Cultural Centre Born with the site as the central axis and the old market building as a luxury container.
