It’s work of Arnal Ballester, a Barcelona’s painter and cartoonist and this facade become a symbol of the Raval Quarter. The artist says he started the work without knowing what he would do in this huge canvas … and only when climbing a crane to start painting and see the roofs of neighboring buildings full of cats, was when the inspiration came: it would be the cats façade!

The artist was only responsible for the drawing of the “Chinese cat”, referring to the site where the building is located: the Raval Quarter is also known as “Chinatown”. Xavier Mas and Illo Tatxé have been the authors of the rest of the cats of this work.
