The Mural “Les Formigues” (the Friendly Ants Facade in English), is located on the Paseo del Born, between the streets Rec Comtal and Flassaders a few steps from the Santa María del Mar Basilica.

This mural is the work of the artist Manuel Pinillo and is based in the homonymous calligrapher of Joan Salvat-Papasseit.

The original work bearing the same name was published in the book L’irradiador del Port i les Gavines in 1921. The haiku style was used: Camí del sol – Per les rutes amigues – unes formigues

The artist has illustrated it with a flower and a starfish, by far its verses recall a row of ants.
