The Argelich House, located at number 34 of the Rambla de Catalunya in the Right Eixample Quarter, belonged to the company "Tejidos Noguera" that was founded in 1912 and operated for decades until the building fell into disrepair.
The building itself does not stand out too much but there is a striking sculptural ensemble on the façade that is made up of three figures that are harassing a
woman (one of these figures even wants to eat the woman's foot!).
After that it was abandoned for years but now has become a film set for horror movies… Its popularity began in 2007 with the first REC film by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza.
Although this was not the first or the last film shot here: Like butterflies in the light (by Diego Yaker), Salvador (by Manuel Huerga), Barcelona (by Ventura Pons), La
Bella Otero (by Jordi Frades), 25 Kilates (by Patxi Amezcua), Blog (by Helena Trapé), While You Sleep (by Jaume Balagueró) and The Gunman (by Pierre Morel). This are only someones
from the more than 95 that were shooted here!
