The Rambla de Catalunya is one of the major streets of Barcelona, its connect the Catalunya Square with the Diagonal Avenue and it is like the continuos of the Las Ramblas, but in a more elegant version.
This rambla was inspired by the parisian's boulevards and may seem more elegant to us than the section that runs towards the sea. Most likely because of the amazing
modernist buildings as the Dolors Calm House,
the Serra House,
the Evarist Juncosa House
or the Antoni Costa House, that it has.
This perception is also favored by the countless fashion shops, restaurants and bars, which offer leisure, entertainment and gastronomy under the shade of the linden trees.
This wooded boulevard has 2 sculptures, both are from the sculptor Josep Granyer: "El toro sentado" (“the sitting bull” in English) right where this street meets with
Catalunya Square and until the
"La jirafa coqueta" (“the flirty giraffe” in
English), where las ramblas ends. Actually it is an unfinished project: the plan was to place 10 sculptures, one on each corner of Las Ramblas.
