The building already existed when the architect Josep Vilaseca i Casanovas was commissioned to reform it. (Yes! This is the same architect who also did the Bruno Cuadros House and the Arc of Triumph!). The project included the construction of a new façade and the interior decoration.

The most striking feature of this facade is the large continuous grandstand that spans the five main floors. Cabinetmaking and polychrome stained-glass windows are of the utmost quality and simply precious. Throughout the facade there is a modernist floral sgraffito with a strong maroon color.
