The Barcelona Auditorium is a modern building of 42,000 m² and designed by the architect Rafael Moneo. It is intended for both concerts and for music teaching.
It is close to the Glorias Suqare and the
"Encantos" market, right next to
the Catalunya National Theater.
The outside of the building is in a sober modern style and contains the following concert halls: The Symphonic Orchestra of Barcelona and National of Catalonia (OBC); The instrumental
band BCN 216; The Superior School of Music of Catalonia and finally the Music Museum.
