The Gràcia Quarter is located in the northern part of the city, it is a neighborhood with its own identity, a completely different world.

Gràcia was born in the center of the plain of Barcelona, around the old road that led from Barcelona to Sant Cugat city (today the Gran de Gràcia street). Its name was born in 1626 thanks to the church dedicated to the Madre de Dios de la Anunciación Plena de Gràcia, the convent of San Jose and, in this way, the name of the “Camí o camino de Gràcia” was first given, subsequently to the name of the neighborhood.

The area is populated by artists and bohemian crowds, so it’s a good option for shopping. Its diversity of races makes it concentrate the largest number of international restaurants for it you can walk down the street Verdi and taste exotic dishes.

Its charms include its beautiful squares, the Villa de Gràcia Square that houses the town hall, the Sun's Square full of bars is the favorite meeting point for young people, as well as the Revolution Square and the Rovira.

In the month of August, the famous Fiestas de Gràcia takes place in the neighborhood. It is a 5 day festival where neighbors compete for decoration, with recycled materials, from the streets. During the holidays, the neighborhood is filled with drinks stands, live music and activities for all ages.
