ISince its inauguration, the headquarters of this artistic association has moved on numerous occasions: first to an apartment on Call street in the Jewish Quarter, then to Boters street, later to Montsió street, to continue on Pi street and finally to the Palau Mercader in the Born Quarter.

This association was born with a clear religious character and for this reason some of its measures today may be surprising. For example that any publication in its library is subject to strong censorship, or that the game of cards or dice is prohibited, or that the nude female model is banned in the drawing classes.

Famous members of the association were Antoni Gaudí, Josep Puig i Cadafalch, Joaquín Torres García and Enric Sagnier, to name a few.

The central patio is beautiful. Although if you want to take advantage of all the splendor of this building, we recommend to take the guided tour.
