The artist Juan Muñoz is the creator of the sculpture located in the Barceloneta
Quarter: A room where it always rains. It’s a group of sculptures in the large esplanade in front of the San Sebastian
Beach.
This sculpture, as the Wounded Star Sculpture or the Tribute to Swimming Sculpture, was part of a project
promoted by the city council for the 1992 Olympic Games, which decide to put on a permanent exhibition of open-air sculptures in this part of the city.
A room where it always rains is a cage that contains five human figures made of bronze who are shut inside with their eyes covered and a spherical base instead of legs. This caged area
is trapped below the three large trees that also form part of this work of art. The sculpture is a litlle bit scary and misterious.
The sculpture actually is not finished. The author wanted to install a permanent watering system but for several reasons it was not installed. This watering system should give more
sense at the sculpture name.
