Along the Barcelona’s coast, in the area of the beaches that go from the San Sebastian Beach to the Barceloneta Beach, you can find a multitude of sculptures and monuments.

In the Plaça del Mar, of the Barceloneta Quarter, in addition to the sculpture “A room where it always rains” and the Wounded Star Sculpture, you can find the sculpture “Tribute to Swimming”.

It is a large bronze structure, with abstract figures that represent the different types of swimming: jumps, synchronized swimming, water polo and speed. It is a beautiful set of filled and empty spaces that shine in the sunlight. This work is made by the artist Alfredo Lanz and was inaugurated in 2004.
