The Ethnological Museum of Barcelona aims to show us the cultures of the communities that are present in the city of Barcelona.
Its building, located in Montjuïc area at the extreme end of the
Laribal gardens, was built in 1973 by the municipal architects
Antoni Lozoya, Bonaventura Bassegoda Nonell, Jaume Puigdengoles and Jesus López, who put special emphasis on its hexagonal architecture.
It is the largest museum of Catalonia and has more collections than any other ethnological museum in Catalonia. It’s team of ethnologists, art historians, anthropologists, restorers and
various external collaborators explain and interpret the cultural, social and economic reality of traditional societies.
Although apparently it is a very specific museum, it is worth visiting as it helps you to understand the Catalan culture.
