The Center of Interpretation of the Call, is located in the heart of the old Jewish Quarter of the city, in the building of medieval origin that was property of the sails’ weaver Jucef Bonhiac.
This center (part of the Barcelona History Museum) aims to
show and explain what the Jewish community in Barcelona was like and how it lived in Medieval times.
The space is distributed in 3 areas:
Area I: Explains the limits, area and buildings that form the Jewish Quarter.
Area II: It tells about the story of the Call, the entire evolution of the Jewish medieval community of Barcelona, since they formed the Call until its disappearance in 1391.
Area III: It shows the cultural legacy of the Call, with an overview of this legacy through the centuries.
This building is an excellent starting point for a journey through the narrow streets of the old Jewish Quarter.
